Final Draft

Slums are just as horrible as they sound, however some people unfortunately choose to live under these conditions. Slums are populations of poor people grouped together. Slums have a negative effect on human populations because they are over populated, unsanitary, and are very hostile. There are so many poor people in the world that slums are over populated.
There are so many slums in the world and so many people living in those slums that they tend to be very crowded. "Kibera's true population isn't known, but there are probably as many people living here as there are in San Francisco." If there are so many people in this slum that the population is unknown then it's obviously over populated. With so many people living in one place so packed together, there are some sanitary issues.
Most people are very clean, and do maintain a clean house hold, however with 8 people living in one house it is an issue maintaining a clean house. "The houses are made of mud and they're very crowded. And the slum is very dirty." With many people in one house hold made of mud the women of the house have a hard time keeping it clean. Besides the fact that  the houses don't have very clean living conditions they are also very hostile.
Slums are also very hostile due to how little pay the people receive at their jobs. "So they are being socialized in this very hostile environment." People meet each other in a hostile place which causes them to not trust anybody. All in all slums are pretty terrible places to live.
Slums are horrible places to live and some people choose to live this way. Slums have a negative effect on human populations because they are over populated, unsanitary, and are very hostile. Some slums have very negative effects but sometimes they have good benefits depending on the situation and the person. People all make choices with their lives and weather they make good choices or bad choices is their call.
